Over the last 25years, the trust has taken on the task of restoring and maintaining the station and its environs. It is governed by an elect board of trustees who provide their time at no cost.
The Trust leases the Little River Railway Station from the Christchurch City Council, and manages the building on a day-to-day basis. It sub leases part of the building to the little river craft station, it upkeeps the grounds around the station
The Trust's vision statement speciefies the following: to continue to manage the operation of the station; to collate and preserve heritage records; to restore and maintain ex-New Zealand railway rolling stock and railway memorabilia.

Become an associate member for $10 a year. We'll send you a regular newsletter, keeping you up to date with how your contribution is assisting the Trust's on going work.
Become a full member for $20 a year. You'll get the regular newsletter, but you'll also be welcome to attend the organisations AGM, to vote in (or become part of) its board of Trustees, and to attend the occasional functions held at the station.
Become a VIP member for $60 a year. You receive all the entitlements of a full member, plus you can selct a themed gift from the Trust. Currently you can choose either a T-Shirt printed with the trusts logo, or pen, hand turned from an Australian hardwood sleeper - an original souvenir taken from the Midland Line.
